Summer is here… Time for planning ahead!

The warmer weather has just arrived, and it’s already time to plan for next year. Where will you host your associates meeting in September? Your staff training in October? Which events would be most appreciated for rewarding your customers?

TODAY'S TRENDS
Awards Ceremony

Festivex Special Events
by GUY THIBAULT, President

Many of you have been to an awards ceremony before. It is a recurring event that brings together people from the same industry or people sharing a common cause. Since this kind of event takes place every year, it is important to renew the formula in order to always offer a surprise element, the ''wow'' factor, as we say in our industry. Otherwise you might lose your guests’ interest or even worse, your sponsors’.

Thankfully now there’s a new product on the corporate events market: the ''water wall''. This wall is designed and made in Canada and has been used in several countries to date. FESTIVEX has had the opportunity to use it more than once since January, and each time our customers and their guests were amazed. The water wall instantly becomes the focal point of the evening since it is mainly used as a screen for projection. Placed in the middle of the stage, the water wall can be made in different sizes: from a minimum width of 10’ all the way to 50’ wide. The minimum height is 16’ and there is no maximum height. Technicians install the water wall and operate it during your event. Here’s a picture featuring the water wall as well as the Festivex logo, one of the sponsors of the recent awards ceremony for the Ottawa Chapter of the MPI organization.

We can also use the water wall to create other effects like a magical entrance for your chairman or board of directors – imagine your President approaching the water wall from behind and all of a sudden the water stops flowing as he walks through and the water instantly reappears! It can also be used as a ''room divider''; for example, you can have the cocktail area on one side and the dinner area on the other.

At Festivex, we always try to offer our customers novel ideas that will enhance their events; this water wall is an example amongst many others. Don’t hesitate to contact us for the planning of your next event in the National Capital region or somewhere else in the world! Wishing all of you a great summer!

LET'S MIX BUSINESS WITH PLEASURE!
Stimulating your senses… It’s in our nature!
You will live a unique experience at Eco-Odyssey, in its water labyrinth stretching over 6 kilometres with a choice of adventures. Feel the magic of the marshes with your colleagues, comfortably seated in your pedal boat. Discover the summer residence of Canada’s 10th Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie-King, and take a stroll through the gardens of the Mackenzie-King Estate. Enjoy Mackenzie-King’s tearoom terrace while sipping your cup of tea and basking in the quietness of the surroundings. Visit the restored cottages; photograph the impressive ruins, the water falls and the wooded trails. The Outaouais has it all when it comes to refresh your attendee’s inspiration when a little break is in order!
Surprising you… It’s in our nature!

Be sure to visit the Canadian Museum of Civilization with your work group and explore the Greeks, a wonderful exhibit of art and artefacts from a world renowned collection. This exhibit illustrates well the longevity of the Greek culture, as well as its impact across the globe. Once the work day is done, relax and kick back with comedian Patrick Groulx, at the Théâtre du Casino Lac-Leamy, on stage until August 2nd. This presentation cleverly combines his two passions: comedy and music. Prepare to ride a roller-coaster for your senses! (Stand up comedy in French only).
