Theatre in a New Way

 

The Théâtre Dérives Urbaines, a Gatineau company, offers a unique service to organisers and meeting planners who wish to communicate a message in a very incisive and entertaining way.  This theatre company will custom make a play, fitted to your organization’s needs, whereby the participants will experience something new and take away far more than with traditional methods.  The company also offers team building sessions, so put the traditional methods aside and call Théâtre Dérives Urbaines! For more information, 819-595-3436.  

Outaouais Ambassadors Club

 

The prestigious Outaouais Ambassadors Club, which represents a group of people who have succeeded in attracting a meeting, a convention or a sports event to our region, inducted 3 new Ambassadors: Mr. Marc Bureau, the mayor of the city of Gatineau, Mr. Michel Careau, spokesperson and Director of the Fonds des Oeuvres pastorals and Mr. Henri Côté, Director of the Maniwaki Airport. For more information concerning the Club Ambassadeurs, please contact Roxanne Bouliane, extension 240.

Canada’s Winter Celebration

On February 5, come celebrate the opening of Winterlude with a unique multi-sensory experience featuring exciting talent and a fantastic musical fireworks display! Dance the night away with world-class Canadian DJ Misstress Barbara. “Sun Life Snowflake Kingdom” has much to offer with its giant snow slides, maze, outdoor movie nights on a giant snow screen, and the snow sculpture competition. And “Rogers Crystal Garden” is the ideal stop for ice sculpture enthusiasts. To mark the 40th season of skating on the Rideau Canal, discover Urban Art at Dows Lake where young local artists share their vision of the skateway through the medium of graffiti art.

Gatineau Loppet

Experience the Gatineau Loppet, the most popular international cross-country ski event in Canada, from February 19th to the 21st.  The 32nd Gatineau Loppet, which takes place in the Gatineau Park, offers a variety of races from beginners to expert. The Norway/Gatineau Giant Ski Competition is a great team building experience. Teams of eight people using one pair of skis will face off against each other in this friendly competition. Impossible! No, but remember, good coordination is essential. Extreme laughter guaranteed!

Souvenirs Sauvages proposes a new exciting outdoor activity with a map, a compass and a GPS, starting May 2010. You will work with a team on a “geocaching” treasure hunt on the Kokopelli Quest. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information about this new activity.

3D Meetings

The Canadian Museum of Civilization’s IMAX Theatre is going 3D!  As of March 2010, and after many months of renovations, the IMAX Theatre will present 3D movies. What a great venue for conferences or other corporate activities.  You need access to the internet during your meetings? No problem, all meeting rooms at the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum are equipped with wireless internet access. For your next meeting or corporate event, call us at 819-776-7018.

Whet Your Appetite With a Song!

Restaurant Ferme Rouge Spectacles offer a musical brunch every Sunday since January 17th. A Prize for the Best Western

The Best Western Cartier Hotel and Conference Centre in Gatineau, Quebec received the Best Western Director’s Award for outstanding quality standards for the second consecutive year. The Director’s Award recognizes Best Western International hotels with a cleanliness and maintenance inspection score of at least 950 points out of a possible 1,000. Hotels must also meet Best Western’s requirements for design and high customer service scores to qualify for the distinction.
